New York – eBay today opened its first pop-up store, a 5,500-square-foot shop in midtown Manhattan dubbed “eBay @ 57th St.” Located at 57th Street and 5th Avenue, the store offers samples of 400 products, which shoppers then purchase online from eBay sellers using touch-screen kiosks or eBay’s iPhone app. eBay’s trend experts will be in-store to offer advice, and eBay will have personal shoppers on hand as well.
The store also will feature on display one-of-a-kind items including from designers and celebrities that will be sold to benefit charity. In addition, all online purchases made at the pop-up shop will be matched dollar-for-dollar by eBay, up to $200,000.
The store will operate through Nov. 29, although it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Hours 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays.
On Black Friday, Nov. 27, doors will open at 7 a.m.
