Modern on the Cape

"Modernist houses represent an ideal way of life, a summer community made up of free-spirited nature lovers, people who valued both solitude and community, spending very little money to create their Eden near the sea"
I can understand perfectly the idea of living simply to better enjoy your natural surroundings.

“Witch! You did it!”

I always forget about pageants, crazy right? But this past weekend was the Miss Universe pageant and I happen to be in Venezuela. The Miss Universe is a huge deal here being that producing beauty queens is currently one of the most successful (maybe the only left?) Venezuelan enterprise.

Well, Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, won the title and was crowned by former Miss Universe title holder, Dayana Mendoza, also from Venezuela. They are both 18 and neither could contain their excitement. It is rumored that when Dayana crowned Stefania, she told her

‘Marica! Lo hiciste’ -“Bitch! You did it!” -

When confronted by the press she explained that what she had said was

‘Witch! You did it!”

Whatever the case cograts to both, if only the country would be as successful in other endeavors…

No project too big

We are starting a triplex job in Asymptope's 166 Perry this week. Here is a photo of Reinaldo behind by the awesome model in the sales office.

No project too small

This is a small job we just completed in the East Village. We reconfigured the entry for a nursery and designed a simple yet multifunctional shelf unit with a hidden work station. Before meeting the clients (who found us through a blog!) we were a little hesitant to take on the project because of it's size. It turns out they were one of the coolest and sweetest couples we have ever met. Also, we are suckers for babies.
