Chateau Marmont
The Chateau Marmont is a hotel at 8221 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California, built in 1927, and modeled loosely after the Château d'Amboise, in France's Loire Valley.

U2 360'
My dream in college was to work for Mark Fisher designing sets for rock shows. Instead I got a job as an Interior Designer. A couple years into it, I emailed Mark Fisher's office looking for an apprenticeship. They emailed me back ever so nicely that they were a very small studio and didn't have the space for me. I still like them, though... Usually when we think of a band, we think of their music. What we don’t consider is architecture. Willie Williams and Mark Fisher create the best kind of architecture, purely for entertainment. The concept for the stage for U2's current 360 Tour is inspired by the Theme Building at LAX. The set is 164 feet tall, and requires 120 trucks to transport it. It was truly awesome.

Bottege Veneta
Bottega Veneta's new home line is unmistakably Bottega. The woven leather theme runs strong throughout the collection--from standing lamps to camp stools to glass votives (!)
The prices definitely reflect the craftsmanship and the name. There's almost nothing under 10k, sadly.

Room Service
The apartment we are designing at 166 Perry Street street comes with Room Service and Pantry Stocking by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Not bad at all...
3.1 Phillip Lim
My favorite designer is Phillip Lim, and my favorite piece from this season's line is this leather mini-dress.
The Illinois
Reading about high-rises for the aformentioned article, I came across a sketch from Frank Lloyd Wright. The Illinois. The design dates to 1956 and it's pretty awesome. It's reminiscent of SOM's Burj Dubai, which upon completion will be the tallest building in the world.
The Rise of the Skyscraper
I recently finished another article for the November issue of eVolo magazine. The issue focuses on high-rise buildings which ispired me to make this collage of my favorite buildings around the world. An ideal city.

Machinist and Stylist Combined
I came upon this shop today. Cute.
"B4 It Was Cool is both a store and a collection of American industrial objects spanning from the beginning to mid 20th century.
While our primary focus is lighting, our goal is to capture the feel and the aesthetic of the age - a time when mankind's faith in Science and Industry was at its peak.
A time when the Engineer, the Machinist and the Stylist were often the same man, and the end product reflected the fact."

The World against Chavez
To start labor day weekend, I attended a protest in front of the U.N against Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. On Friday September 4th several more were scheduled around the world against him and as a Venezuelan myself I thought it was important for me to join the one in New York. As fans of our blog and our hotel, I thought you might appreciate the effort.

Shingle Table
The amazing and talented Billy Cotton designed a table inspired by the cedar shingles adorning the homes on our beloved Martha's Vineyard. It's really beautiful and innovative.
