The Ring
The Ring, or "das rheingold" opens on September 27th to begin the Met season. The Met is saying this is the most complicated (and dangerous!) production ever put on its stage. "A new Wagner “Ring” cycle that involves a leviathan set, scenery almost entirely based on intricate computerized projections and a few age-old theatrical techniques." OK, I'm in. NY Times.
The Freebie
If you live in NY go see The Freebie today! Last day in theaters. Watch the (great) trailer here.
"A young couple decides to give each other a night off, no questions asked."
Angelika Film Center New York - 18 West Houston Street, New York, NY 12:00 2:00 4:00 6:00 8:00 10:00pm |
*From the Sundance website: The Freebie is an insightful, humorous look at love, sustaining relationships, and the awkwardness of monogamy when the haze of lust has faded.

Another art post. One thing that seems to have remained constant in all my work is the subject of light, and how to form paint to apprehend light.

Our friend sent us a photo from his front row seat at the Proenza Schouler show yesterday. Unbeknown to him was the fact that Terry Richardson was sitting right next to him. Our friend doesn't know who Terry is. How does one explain this (WARNING! VULGAR!)

Abandoned Motel in Gila Bend, AZ Photo by Carlos Moore, "Big C." |
Like you, i'm always looking for, photographing and archiving little moments (one never knows when the perfect palette or arrangement of objects will reveal themselves and solve the design challenge of the moment.)
